The National Association for Poetry Therapy Presents
virtual open mic night
October Moon - 2024
Featured Poet: Alma Maria Rolfs, LICSW, PTR
Alma Maria Rolfs, LICSW, PTR, is a clinical social worker, poet, teacher, poetry therapy mentor/supervisor and past president of NAPT. She has practiced poetry therapy in a wide range of clinical and community settings, bringing her love of words and her belief in the healing power of poetry and creative writing. Alma was invited as the Keynote Speaker at the 2022 NAPT Virtual Conference. Alma will be reading from her newly published book, “To Love the Moon.” Available through Amazon.
"To Love the Moon" carries us through life and death with the strength of a boulder and the delicateness of a spring blossom. In this collection, a hard-earned wisdom and life-long sensuality combine to create a rich, fragrant, and complex message about the depth of appreciation a human can feel in life. The poems are lyrical and powerful with a strong descriptive capability, sometimes heart-breaking, sometimes funny, always beautiful.
