2026 Conference Scholarships
Scholarships
The National Association for Poetry Therapy is offering ten scholarships this year.
NAPT is committed to inclusivity and broadening our membership base. For this reason, this year we are offering nine $200 scholarships to go towards the cost of conference registration.
We encourage those working towards credentialing with the International Federation for Biblio/Poetry Therapy, first time attendees, and those belonging to underrepresented populations to apply, particularly those experiencing financial difficulties and for whom the registration fees would be a hardship.
To apply for one of these nine scholarships, please submit your name, e-mail, regular mailing address, and major field of endeavor, along with a brief essay of no more than 500 words indicating your professional/educational links to poetry therapy and reasons for wishing to attend the NAPT conference. The deadline for scholarship applications is FEBRUARY 14th. If you have already registered, NAPT will reimburse you the cost of your scholarship. Scholarship Recipients will be notified of acceptance by February 20th.
Please send all scholarship applications to scholarships@poetrytherapy.org
A tenth $500 scholarship towards the cost of registration is in memory of longtime NAPT member and friend Dr. Mari Alschuler. This special scholarship, made possible through the generosity of Rosalynda Dina, will be reserved for those who work with LGBTQ+ clients in honor of Mari's legacy. In addition to being a professor of social work at Youngstown State University, inspiring and empowering countless students, Mari was also a clinician in private practice, where she specialized in trans- and gender-affirming care.
To apply for this scholarship, please submit your name, e-mail, regular mailing address, and major field of endeavor, along with a brief essay of no more than 500 words indicating your professional/educational links to poetry therapy and reasons for wishing to attend the NAPT conference. Please describe your work with the LGBTQ+ community in your essay. The deadline for this scholarship application is FEBRUARY 14th. If you have already registered, NAPT will reimburse you the cost of your scholarship. Scholarship Recipients will be notified of acceptance by February 20th.
