The National Association for Poetry Therapy, Inc. (NAPT) is a nonprofit international and interdisciplinary organization promoting growth and healing through written language, symbol and story. NAPT members have forged an energetic community of helping professionals who value the applications of words and language. Join us for a wide offering of workshops and special events in the beautiful area of the southwest.
We welcome poets, clinicians, educators, community and spiritual healers to attend!
At our 2020 conference, we will be offering “Tracks” into the program to help attendees select workshops which best suit their needs as professionals. The tracks are:
Clinical/Health Care Setting: for those interested in working in both mental health and medical professions
Educational Setting: for those interested in working in schools, universities, after-school programs, etc.
Social Justice: for those interested in working in community settings that address cultural diversity, gender identity, and social issues
Spirituality: for those interested in working in spiritual centers or pastoral care, or whose work has primarily a spiritual focus
NAPT Scholarships for Conference Registration
To encourage newcomers to our conference, we are offering up to five scholarships of $200 each to first-time conference attendees. If you wish to apply, submit your name, e-mail, regular mailing address and major field of endeavor, along with a brief essay of no more than 500 words indicating your professional/educational links to poetry therapy and reasons for wishing to attend the NAPT conference. The deadline for applications is February 1, 2020. If you have already registered you may still apply, and if you are awarded the scholarship, you will be reimbursed that amount. Applicants will be notified before March 1st of their acceptance. Please send all application letters to Barbara Kreisberg, Conference Chair at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Another way to receive a conference registration discount is to volunteer at the Registration Table. Participants who choose to volunteer will not only be helping NAPT at the conference, but also receiving $15 per hour off of their registration up to $45. Please contact Barbara Kreisberg at email@example.com if you might be interested in volunteering.
If you make a referral of a new attendee, you will receive a $25 rebate off your registration. This will be noted on the registration form, which will be online by January 1st.
NAPT is pleased to announce that Bookworks, a local bookstore in the Alburquerque area, will be the official book seller at the conference. If you are interested in Bookworks ordering any of your books directly from the publisher and selling them for you, please contact Barbara Kreisberg at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information by February 1st, so that the book store can order your books in time for the conference:
Title of the Book
Cost of the book
If you would like to bring your own books and have them sold at the conference, Bookworks will sell your books for you on consignment. For more information, on this option, or any other questions please contact Barbara Kreisberg, Conference Chair at email@example.com.
This is an opportunity for our attendees and/or workshop presenters to showcase and sell their books. We look forward to your participation!
