Training and credentialing in the field of poetry therapy are handled by the National Federation for Biblio/Poetry Therapy. The Federation is the credentialing arm of the field of poetry therapy, and NAPT is the membership arm.

Please visit the Federation's website, www.NFBPT.com, for complete information on becoming credentialed as a certified applied poetry facilitator (CAPF), certified poetry therapist (CPT) or registered poetry therapist (PTR). You will be able to download a free copy of the Guide to Training Requirements and peruse the directory of approved mentor/supervisors. From this directory, you can interview several mentor/supervisors and select one to guide your training process. You will also find listings of educational opportunities on the Federation's website.
